What’s it like to be a Palestinian citizen of Israel and how does one reconcile identity with citizenship? Despite constituting more than 20 percent of the population, Israel has more than 50 laws in effect that codify discrimination against Palestinian citizens. Still, Israel simultaneously calls itself a democracy and a “Jewish” state. What are the political and legal dimensions of this apartheid system? We’ll also take a look at Jerusalem from a Palestinian perspective, while also exploring the situation surrounding the Al Aqsa compound.
