Deena Kishawi is a senior at DePaul University where she is majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience with plans to attend medical school in August 2016. Originally from Gaza, her family ties to Palestine have motivated her to continue to work for the cause of Palestine and fight for justice. She devotes her time to raising awareness about the occupation of Palestine and the use of Islamophobia as a strategy in mainstream media.
